Living in an imperfect world means we rely on soldiers to safeguard us from harm. Our armed services consist of incredible individuals who willingly sacrifice to protect our country and freedoms. Tributes to the military hold a special place in my heart, especially since many of my loved ones are veterans.
On Veterans Day, we pause to reflect and express gratitude to these remarkable people. They’ve dedicated years of their lives to a perilous job that few are willing to take on. Many have faced trauma, injury, and the loss of fellow veterans. Survivors carry vivid memories of the past, like my Pops who would share stories of horrible battles, yet exuded a deep love for his country. Perhaps, only rivaled by my husband’s Semper Fi spirit.
So, how can we adequately thank these brave souls for their time and sacrifices? Regardless of political beliefs, it’s crucial to appreciate these men and women. They deserve every parade, accolade, and “veteran’s discount” we can offer. Let’s make it a habit to thank veterans not just today, but whenever the opportunity arises. May God bless, protect, and shower our veterans with mercy and favor.
